Canterbury Rare Breeds Auction

It's on a again - on Sunday, March 11 at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve. Viewing from 10am, Livestock auction starts at 12 noon, poultry auction starts at 1pm, reduced entry to Willowbank applies until 1pm. For more details go to

It's still time to enter poultry and livestock - entries close tomorrow, Friday at 5pm and entries can be emailed, accompanied by internet banked entry fees.

We'll have some very rare breeds of sheep up for auction: Awassi, Damara, Gotland Pelt, and three Swiss Valais Balcknose halfbred wethers who would make the most eye catching lawn ornaments as they look like the real thing.

There are Swinhoe pheasants, geese, Wyandottes of many coluors, Silkies, Faverolles, Orpingtons, Pekins, Araucanas, Indian Runner ducks, Muscovies already entered.

Come and make this a fun day out for the whole family. In addition to everything Willowbank has to offer, there will be hundreds of poultry, trade displays, rabbit hopping and much more to see.
