Injury, help/advice please!

Good evening all, I need your expert opinions please.
Just now when I put my chooks away for the night, one was missing. Couldn’t find her at first and then she was suddenly there and I noticed she was bleeding. She used to have a funny crooked ‘spur’ on one leg and it looks like it got ripped/bitten/torn off somehow. There was freshish blood but the bleeding seemed to have stopped but she was much more docile than usually. She normally never lets me catch her but then she did with no fuss. It was almost as if she was in shock maybe?
She’s a bit of a bitch but I quite like her and definitely don’t want her to suffer, does anyone have any ideas what to do? Vet? Maybe bring her inside by the fire for the night? I don’t really know what to do tbh.
Any ideas appreciated, thank you.

Sorry to hear this. If the bleeding has stopped she'll be fine.

Usually it's ok to let them continue with their nomal routine unless she is being pecked on the injured area by the other chooks. Also if there is mud (as there so often is during wet weather in winter) and it's so deep that it gets into the injured area I'd separate her for a couple of days so that no dirt gets in and it has time to form a scab.

She probably was shocked but should recover quickly.

I hope your chook is feeling a bit less sorry for herself today - I think you're right that it could be like shock.

What did you end up doing? If you are going to put her back with the flock I'd be tempted to spray the wound with some of the blue antiseptic type spray - chickens like to peck at red things, so they could make an ok wound a lot worse so it's just good to do that to dissuade them from investigating with their beaks!

Thank you so much for your replies. She seems to be, quite literally, a tough old bird and had a pretty normal day today,...eating, pecking and going about her important chicken business. So fingers crossed, hopefully she’ll be all good. I’ll definitely keep an eye on it, the pecking at red things is a good tip, thanks. She’s pretty good at defending herself, so I’m not too worried but it’s definitely good to know, for future reference.
Thank you again!

It's nice to read that she's doing ok at the moment. Fingers crossed she'll be her old self again soon.
