Hello everybody.....
I am sooo happy to be able to report back that Banty's legs are showing a vast improvement.
This morning we soaked her legs in a warm teatree oil shampoo solution, followed by a spray with Betadine, (antiseptic, specifically for animal use) and another coating of vaseline.
The scales on her feet have closed up and are sitting flat, and THE LUMP HAS FALLEN OFF! The other lump is loose as well. It was suggested that the lumps could have been excretions from the scale mites and it would appear that's what they are. There wasn't anything embedded in the lump, just a bit of straw.
The legs looks clean and healthy now and just need to grow some scales back.
She had rough textured legs when we bought her, but I had no idea that was probably the leg mites. The other hens haven't been affected.
So, all good! Thank you all for your contributions.
Cheers
