Question to anyone who's kept sheep

when I went out last night & saw the third lamb being born, I was standing there with an old towel - should I have towelled that lamb off & dried it?
or would that have made it smell funny & then she might have rejected it?

she's a pet lamb/ewe and very relaxed with me (although she changed her mind when I jammed her in the yards with the vet)
if it had been a ewe I might have done that, because as a backup, I can always bottle raise it (but don't really need the extra work at the moment), but with a ram lamb, I'm not so keen as it usually makes an unmanageable ram

Bugger - on all accounts. Glad she's ok though.

here's Ma and babies, little white boy looks a bit 2 dimensional, going to have to watch to make sure he's feeding

close up of the black boy - his white markings are amazingly symmetrical, hope they don't disappear - at least with Wiltshires, they don't grow a long fleece and lose their patterns completely

and the other ewe with her baby girl - she's fattened out in a week

do you like the recycled feed dish!! cleaned out of course....
